Umpiring with Titans

Umpiring is the only paid role within the club. Umpires get paid from $10 (in-training), and ranging up to $30 (Badged Umpires). Titans must submit at least 1 umpire per team. If Titans have 20 competition teams, 20 umpires are required. Umpires have the opportunity to umpire Saturday games, in addition to representative carnivals held on Sundays (Level 1s+).

Learning to Umpire

To become an umpire you must:

Be at least 13 years of age
Be a registered member of Titans
Complete Rules of Netball (online)
Complete Foundation Umpiring course (online)
Complete Foundation Practical course (in person)
Have sufficient Titans uniform to umpire during winter (ie - Titans Hoodie or Winter Jacket, and Titans trackpants*)

*A $10 discount is offered to umpires purchasing Titans trackpants

If you are interested in learning to become an umpire, please email titansnetball@outlook.com and (pending numbers) we can put you down for the practical course. The Practical course is held each year in March. Please email us in January/February to be considered.

Umpiring Responsibilities

All umpires must:

Submit their availability with the Titans umpiring coordinator at least one week in advance
Confirm their availability with the Titans umpiring coordinator by the Tuesday of each week
In the event of a cancellation, umpires must give the Titans umpiring coordinator at least 24 hours notice to find a replacement (as Titans is fined $50 for any cancellations)
